There are several nursing education options in the Burnaby area. Striking a balance between theory and practice is emphasized in the general nursing curriculum and specialty programs like high acuity nursing, nephrology nursing, nurse practitioner and perioperative nursing available at the British Columbia Institute of Technology School of Health Sciences. Learning to work with patients and health professionals in a variety of settings is emphasized in the nursing program at Langara College.
